ARTISAN WORKSHOP FOR CLASSES 4 & 5
DATE: 27TH – 29TH MAY 2024
A three-day Artisan Workshop was held for the classes 4 & 5. It was a vibrant and engaging experience for the young learners. Renowned artisans and experts led the sessions, guiding the students in exploring various traditional crafts and art forms. Mr Dinesh Chandra Mohanlal Kumhar tutored the students on molela terracotta art plaques, Ms Reeta Das taught the students to make gorgeous jute- jewellery and Ms Kalyani depicted Madhubani paintings. The artisans ensured that the skills, techniques, and knowledge associated with it continued to be passed down from generation to generation as it also helped maintain cultural traditions and heritage. The workshop aimed to foster creativity and instil an appreciation for cultural heritage. The students built confidence in their artistic abilities and developed a sense of pride in their creations.

    Tech Exhibition

    The Class 3 Tech Exhibition was a vibrant showcase of young talent and budding innovation, held at F-block atrium DPSKPV on 18th May 2024. Total 19 students participated in the event. The event aimed to foster early interest in technology among primary school students and provide them with a platform to explore and exhibit their creative projects.

    Exhibition Highlights: The exhibition featured an array of interactive displays, projects, and demonstrations created by students from various Class 3 sections. Here are some of the highlights:

    • Canva Chronicles: The Class 3 Canva Project was an exciting initiative aimed at introducing primary school students to the world of digital design and creativity. Students explored the fundamental principles of graphic design, such as layout, color theory, typography, and composition.
    • Pixel perfect: Students explored the intersection of technology and art by creating digital artworks using tablets and interactive drawing tools. The art gallery showcased a variety of imaginative pieces, from digital paintings to animated cartoons, highlighting the students' creativity and artistic expression.
    • Coding projects: Students showcased their coding skills through simple programs and animations created using platforms like Scratch and Code.org. From basic games to animated stories, the coding projects demonstrated the students' understanding of logic and programming concepts.

    The Class 3 Tech Exhibition was a resounding success, showcasing the talents and achievements of young innovators and technology enthusiasts. Through their creative projects and demonstrations, students demonstrated the power of curiosity, imagination, and perseverance in unlocking the potential of technology. As we look ahead, the exhibition serves as a testament to the transformative impact of early tech education in shaping the future of our society

      SHAKESPHEREAN LITERARY WEEK: A WALK TO CHERISH

      GRADE VI:

      DAY1: The literary week commenced with the colourful, informative bunting making activity for students with the theme being the various genres of English Literary and stock words which ranged through horror, adventure, fantasy, mystery, comedy, thriller to tragedy; from conflict, climax, plot, resolution, settings, characterization to to theme and symbolism.

      DAY2: The enthusiasm of students advanced to a sprawling level with the Picture dictionary from English to French/ German/ Sanskrit and vice versa containing words represented through images drawn and printed.

      DAY3: The third day of the event united the students with the Collaborative Picture story Making activity which provided the students an opportunity to cooperate and collaborate as a group nurturing their team spirit.

      DAY4: The most awaited event which added cherry to the cake was the Literary Parade where students demonstrated their favourite characters ranging from Geronimo Stilton, Roald Dhal’s Matilda, J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter to Shakespeare’s Portia.Voice modulation, expression body language and intonation being the key ingredients of the activity.Usage of props and costume added charm and gaietygaeity to each of their performances which reflected the true spirit of the activity.

      GRADE VII:

      DAY 1:The Shakespearean Week inagurated with the vibrant spirit reflected through the Bunting Making Activity on Literary devices ranging from simile, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia oxymoron to antithesis, irony, paradox, hyperbole imagery and its five types.The varying shapes of buntings added cherry on the cake through incorporation of variety which is the spice of life.

      DAY 2:The students showcased their aesthetic spirit through the Calligram creation activity on the theme “Music” wherein students explored and expanded their unexplored prolific artist hidden within.

      DAY 3: The students delivered their best through the Picture Dictionary creation activity on a vast plethora of idioms which clarified the students the meanings of various idioms and their usage in day to day life.

      DAY 4: Literary Parade activity conducted imbibing the authors and characters from literary world was a grand success.

      DAY 4: Students enjoyed being in the shoes of their favourite characters and creating an aura which was enigmatic for some but added a feather to the cap of other activities.

      GRADE VIII:

      DAY1: Your talent determines what you can do; Your motivation determines how much your are willing to do and your attitude determines how well you do it. Our talented lot of desptites depicted their outstanding skills through Bunting creation activity on the theme “Literary Giants” where in they portrayed Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Jane Austen to Ernest Hemingway, Leo Tolstoy artistically with their famous creations.

      DAY 2: The students enthusiastically participated and presented their multilingual dictionary converting the words from other foreign languages like French, German, sanskrit to English and vice versa which empowered their vocabulary leading to gaining knowledge about words from different languages.

      DAY 3: They also prepared selfie points and comic strips which were the group activities they enjoyed with other students in the group coordination, improvising communication and mastering the skill of team work.

      DAY 4:Students energetically presented their favourite characters portraying their costume, dialogue delivery, body language and gestures.

        The Scholar Badge Ceremony 2023-24 was conducted at Delhi Public School, Knowledge Park V on 3rd May, 2024 to honor the unparalleled resilience and academic preeminence of the exemplary scholars of erstwhile classes VI-VIII.

        The ceremony was graced by the benign parents- Dr. Madhu Bajpai, Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Dr. Dayashree Yadav and Mr. Manish Kaushik.

        The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp to invoke the blessings of the Almighty followed by the floral felicitation of the Guest of Honour, Dr. Madhu Bajpai and esteemed guests who graced the ceremony with their prized presence. The Principal, Ms. Manju Verma, welcomed the august audience and applauded the sagacious scholars for their academic excellence. She encouraged them to move forward and achieve greater laurels in life. She also highlighted the successful implementation of many programs like D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read), STEAM, swimming classes to name a few to promote the holistic development of the learners. It was accentuated by her that the school truly believes in empowering learners with 21st century skills which ensure that they enter the world with an understanding of what it takes to be a good citizen—one who is civically engaged, a critical thinker, digitally literate, globally aware and an effective communicator.

        The cultural spectacle interwoven with the announcement of scholars added an ebullient ambience to the celebration. The school choir presented a euphonic lyrical rendition ‘One Day’ highlighting the values of dreams and togetherness. This was followed by a riveting dance performance on Ganesh Vandana, augmenting the overall exuberance. The dance left a reverberating impact on the heart and soul of the audience.

        The brilliant achievers of the middle wing were felicitated by the revered Guest of Honour, esteemed guests and the Principal. For their stupendous performance in academics in one, two or three years, the scholars were bestowed with a Scholar Badge with One Star, Two Star and Three Stars and a merit certificate respectively. Three Star scholars were also rewarded with a coupon for blazer. The Guest of Honour applauded the efforts and the hard work of the scholars. She motivated the students to keep moving forward with hard work and sincerity and achieve great heights. She underscored that the students are immensely focused on their goals and aspirations and are mastering multiple skills at such a tender age. A gleaming enthusiasm and the triumphant spirit of the young scholars was evident. It was indeed a proud moment for the parents to see the young scholars receiving their honours.
        As a hallmark of true academic brilliance, 324 scholars were awarded badges for their stellar academic accomplishments.The ceremony culminated with a Vote of Thanks by the Middle Wing Headmistress, Ms. Richa Bhardwaj followed by the National Anthem.
